DMITRI MENDELEEV (1869)

Demitri Mendeleev was born February 8, 1834 in Tobolsk a town in Siberia, Russia. Demitri died at the age if 72 in February 2, 1907. He went to St. Petersburg University to study Natural Dcience, he graduated in 1856. Shortly after he went to Heidleburg University in 1806, where he started his own laboratory. In 1905 he was awarded the Copley Meal which is the highest award to the Royal Society for a science contribution.

What did Demitri Mendeleev discover?

Mendeleev is known for his work on the periodic law and creation of the first periocid table In 1869, he created the first periocid table. The Periodic Law that when the elements are arranged according to their atomic number, elements with similar properties will appear at refular intervals.

In 1868-1870 he wrote The Principles of Chemistry. The Nobel Committee for Chemistry recommended Mendeleev to the Swedish Academy to award him the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the discovery for the periodic system.
